FoSNUS is the Strathclyde branch of the official student wing of the Scottish National Party. We organise regular campaign activities, guest speakers and "pints & politics" nights throughout the year, as well as assisting with SNP campaigns. We are the strongest and most active party political society on Strathclyde campus, and are constantly working to hit home our objectives of Free Education and Scottish Independence.
Aims
Independence
At the heart of our existence is our fundamental belief that Scotland should be a normal Independent nation, able to play its part in the world like all other normal countries. Scotland is a rich country, yet London rule sees a third of Scottish children living in poverty. The devolved Scottish assembly is unable to deal with the real issues affecting the peoples of Scotland as Westminster still holds the pursestrings. Meanwhile Scotland is home to Tony Blair's nuclear submarines, weapons of mass destruction which the majority of Scots oppose.
Only with Independence will Scotland's citizens be able have a properly representative government which will stand up for the interests and needs of Scotland.
